B.S. University of California, Davis; Recently retired after over 36 years in Human Resources, including 33 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Former small business owner. Involved in work in Guatemala since 2003.

Max Kintner - Vice President / Field Director



M.A., Ph.D, Latin American Studies, Tulane University. Has worked with projects promoting education and public health, and conducted anthropological, economic development, and social work research in Guatemala since 1992. Currently coordinates a program for developmentally and emotionally disabled children in New York.

Raymond Waespi - Treasurer



B.A. and M.A. in Geography; Masters of Business Administration; Masters of Divinity. Over 20 years as a Geographer\Cartographer implementing computer mapping in the environmental engineering industry. College Cultural Geography Professor in the California Community College system. Ordained Lutheran pastor serving multi-cultural congregations since 2010; served as missionary to India. Worked in Guatemala since 2003 providing educational opportunities.

B.S. University of California, Davis; M.S. University of Oregon; Energy economist for over 30 years focused on designing, implementing and evaluating clean energy technologies and programs for energy utilities and government agencies in North America and throughout the world.

Mary Pliska - Director



B.A., Theology, University of Dallas; M.A., Religious Education, Loyola, New Orleans. More than 35 years in environmental and justice-centered ministries and project leadership roles at the parish, campus, community, and national organization levels. Has worked to promote education and social progress in Guatemala since first visiting there in 1990.

B.S., University of California, Davis; J.D. University of Oregon; Practicing attorney for 24 years; previously worked as legal counsel in nonprofit sector, currently practicing in San Francisco law firm.

Brother Bill Farrell - Director



Member of the Society of Mary (Marianists). Educator, social activist, jail chaplain, parish minister, homeless advocate, involved in Central American issues since 1985. Lives and works in Guatemala City, teaches at a night school for the poor and is a member of the Conference of Religious Men and Women Peace and Justice Commission in Guatemala.
